Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka‘s situation, according to reports in Germany.
Bayern are currently in talks to extend the German international’s contract, which is set to expire next summer, but negotiations are said to be fraught with difficulty.
Goreztka’s representatives are reportedly demanding around €20m a season (which is about £332,000 a week) while Bayern are only prepared to pay around half that.
With United said to be eyeing a replacement for Paul Pogba, whose contract also runs out in 2022, the midfielder has been identified as a potential option.
He is very much in a similar mould to Pogba, as while he does not possess the same flair as the United star, the German contributes a great deal in the final third of the pitch.
Goreztka has been outstanding for Bayern since he moved to the Bundesliga champions three years ago. The 26-year-old has scored 25 goals and provided 27 assists in 125 appearances, winning six major trophies, including the Champions League.
