The centre back was one of the most expensive defenders even when he joined Juventus, and he won’t come cheap, but there’s a sense that the Old Lady may be ready to cash in soon.

Football Italia are still pushing the narrative that Chelsea are interested, and they claim that the Blues are “ahead” of Man U and Liverpool in the “race” to sign De Ligt.

Frankly, we’re not sure we really believe that either of those teams are in the “race”. Liverpool have three very good central defenders, and Man U signed Raphael Varane just a year ago.
