Journalists Rate Chelsea Star’s Chances Of Leaving The Club At 70% After ‘Regular Contact’ With Previous Manager

There is a strong possibility that Chelsea forward Timo Werner will join Bayern Munich next summer, according to Sport1 journalists Patrick Berger and Florian Plettenberg.

The two reporters are usually very reliable when it comes to transfers linked to German clubs, and they claim that Werner has a 70% chance of moving to Bayern at the end of the season.

It is believed that the Bundesliga champions’ head coach Julian Nagelsmann is the main reason why a deal could happen. The 34-year-old was Werner’s manager at RB Leipzig, and both Berger and Plettenberg claim the pair are in “regular contact.”

Nagelsmann is thought to have already discussed the prospect of signing Werner with Bayern’s recruitment team but there are a couple of issues that need to be resolved first.

Erling Haaland is reportedly Bayern’s primary target, although the German side are aware that they will likely be priced out of the battle for the Norwegian international. A decision on Robert Lewandowski’s future will also have to be made. If the Polish international signs a contract extension there would be no need for Werner but, as things stand, the legendary forward could be sold next summer with just a year remaining on his current deal.
