Rangers secured qualification for the Europa League knockout stages with a tight 3-2 win against Standard Liege at Ibrox yesterday evening.
The Scottish club went behind twice on the night but they grabbed control of the game during the second half, with veteran midfielder Steven Davis playing a key role in the centre of the pitch.
With the Gers needing to get a grip of proceedings, the Northern Ireland international was on hand to dictate play with his passing and help ensure his side came away with the three points. Supporters on Twitter were praising Davis after the match:
My MOTM was Davis won everything today that was a champions performance not the best of performances but win ugly. Mon the gers

The fact that Davis has started 13 of the team’s 24 games so far this campaign suggests he remains a key first-team player. He certainly isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The 35-year-old’s contract will expire in the summer but, on last night’s evidence, he is more than deserving of a one-year extension.
