Rangers have confirmed the capture of Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on loan until the end of the season.
It is believed that the Bears will pay part of the Wales international’s wages, with an option to buy the player if he performs well.
Supporters on Twitter can’t quite believe that the Scottish champions have managed to secure Ramsey’s signature, although a few were cautious about the deal, considering the 31-year-old’s rather poor injury record:
Is this rangers biggest signing since tore Andre flo?

Its a gamble but the boost in Ramsay shirt sales will go a long way to recouping cost.

We are getting current international footballers from Juventus. We did buy Ian Black and Kevin Kyle didn’t we? Or was that a figment of my imagination?

Will you ask Rangers if we can have more ‘panic buys’ please? They’re rather good.😂

It does show you how far the club has come in recent years that they have managed to attract a player of Ramsey’s calibre.
Of course, the Welshman will need to get up to speed as he hasn’t played for a couple of months. His fitness will also have to be managed carefully due to how often he breaks down. Even so, his quality means that, if he is available for the majority of games, the ex-Arsenal star will likely play a key role in securing title number 56.
