Weigl has worked with manager Thomas Tuchel before at Borussia Dortmund and reports in the English press last week said that the 25-year-old is one option the Blues are considering if they can’t sign either West Ham’s Declan Rice or Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.
After agreeing a deal in principle to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, and with the Manchester side seemingly closing in on a move for Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, it looks as though the club are really aiming high with their ambitions.
The Italian website claims the Gunners, Leicester, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille have all been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old in recent months but the Rossoneri are now favourites to secure the player’s signature.
