Celtic could have to battle five English Premier League teams and three Championship clubs in order to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The website claims that West Ham, Wolves, Leicester, Burnley, Watford, Middlesbrough, West Brom and Bournemouth are all interested in the American international.

While the Hoops do have an option to buy Carter-Vickers from Tottenham in the summer, after his loan spell at Parkhead ends, the fee (including add-ons) is reportedly above the £10m mark.

The Scottish club would probably need funds from Champions League qualification to bring in the centre-back, and that can only be guaranteed by finishing first.

Celtic would also need to get an agreement from Carter-Vickers, who may be tempted by the prospect of playing regularly in the English top-flight. It means his move to Glasgow is far from certain at the moment, despite being one of Ange Postecoglou’s key players.
