Celtic winger James Forrest made his eagerly awaited comeback from injury in the 0-0 draw against Dundee United on Sunday.
The 29-year-old has been out since September due to a stress fracture in his ankle, and he spoke about the long road back to fitness in a recent interview, which was tweeted out by the club’s official Twitter account:

Forrest has not always been a universally loved figure among the fanbase, due to his inconsistent performances, but supporters on Twitter are very happy that the player has returned to first-team action:
Good to see the main man back ?

This wee man has been so badly missed, would go as far as to say losing him this season cost us 10IAR, he’s that vital a player

It sometimes the case that you don’t know what you’ve lost until it’s gone and, with Forrest unavailable for so long, his absence was keenly felt. Last season, he scored 16 goals and contributed 22 assists, and any team would miss a player who can record those sort of numbers.
Whether Forrest will be able to get back to his best following such a lengthy layoff, we shall have to wait and see.
