Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson has been the subject of a bid from English Premier League side Watford in recent days, and some Celtic supporters are wondering whether the Hoops should get involved in the race for the 21-year-old.

Ferguson is the son of former Rangers player Derek, and nephew to ex-Gers captain Barry, but while some are not convinced whether he’d be worth the outlay, other fans on Twitter believe he could be a decent purchase:

Watford’s £2m offer for Ferguson was rejected, with the Dons having described the bid as “insulting” and there are some reports that they may only agree to sell for double that amount.

If that is really the case, Celtic would probably get better value for money elsewhere. Ferguson is certainly a very talented player and could develop into a top performer in the coming years, but the Hoops are not in the position to splash out money on potential.
