Celtic have placed Leeds fullback Barry Douglas high on their list of replacements for Boli Bolingoli, according to reports in the UK.

Bolingoli has been subject to a loan offer from French club Amiens and, with manager Neil Lennon having stated that the Belgian is unlikely to play for the club again, his departure before the end of the transfer window looks almost certain.

The Hoops’ recruitment department are, therefore, actively looking for a replacement in order to provide competition for Greg Taylor, and it is believed that Douglas is being discussed.

The Scottish international was promoted with Leeds from the English Championship last season, but the former Wolves star is no longer first choice, having fallen behind both Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas in the pecking order at Elland Road.

Douglas’s arrival likely depends on Bolingoli heading out of the door first. Amiens’ loan bid reportedly includes an option to buy for £2.3m at the end of the season. Considering Celtic paid Rapid Vienna £3m for the defender last summer, they may seriously consider the offer on the table.
