Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor celebrated his 27th birthday yesterday and the club’s official Twitter account marked the occasion by sharing some statistics about the player’s career with the Hoops so far:

The Scottish international has certainly won a huge amount of silverware during his time at the club, and many fans feel he will go down as one of the club’s best players if he stays at Parkhead:

As a one club man he’d become our most decorated, probably.

Captain after Brown hands down. I’d hate to see him leave. This is from someone who slated him for years. He’s proved me wrong. I don’t care..

McGregor has been a stalwart of the first team over the last six years and he has developed into a fantastic all-round midfielder, capable of playing in any role required of him.
He is the leading candidate to take over from Scott Brown as club captain when his teammate retires and that is not surprising considering his consistent levels of performances.
Leicester have tried to tempt McGregor into leaving in the past but after signing a new four and a half year contract back in November, there is no danger of the player walking away from the Scottish champions.
