Chelsea could make an attempt to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona before the January transfer window closes, according to Shay Lugassi.
The reporter, who is the chief editor of the website Barca Times, says that he is aware the Blues were originally keen on signing the Frenchman on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer. However, with Barca now confirming that the player will be sold this month, Lugassi believes a deal could be brought forward:
The interest and offer was for this coming summer but I would not rule out anything in January. In the transfer Market everything can always be. #FCBlive https://t.co/vFFVSHQoH5

Dembele joined Barcelona for £135m four and a half years ago and the La Liga side are keen to ensure that he doesn’t leave for nothing at the end of the season. That is why they want to offload him in January.
Other teams, including Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with the 24-year-old in recent weeks, but manager Thomas Tuchel could play a key role in securing the winger’s signature.
Dembele worked with the German at Borussia Dortmund and, in an interview last year, the player stated that Tuchel is his “favourite manager”.
