Latest Chelsea Injury News: Updates On Havertz, Mount, Alonso, Kovacic, Werner And Lukaku

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has not trained ahead of Germany’s World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein tonight.

The 22-year-old is suspended for the match but reports suggest that he would have missed the game anyway as he has picked up a thigh problem.

Mason Mount is still suffering pain after an infected wisdom tooth, and it remains to be seen whether he will take any part in England’s fixtures during the international break. It will be hoped that the problem clears up before Chelsea’s next match versus Leicester.

Marcos Alonso sustained an ankle problem in the 1-0 win over Malmo last week and he missed the draw against Burnley. It is not believed to be a serious issue, though, and he should return to fitness soon. There is less certainty on when Mateo Kovacic will be available again due to a hamstring injury.

Both Timo Werner (hamstring) and Romelu Lukaku (ankle) are targeting the match against Leicester for their comeback so we should see them on the training patch at Cobham in the coming days.
