Chelsea are “ready” to make a sizeable offer for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, according to BlastingNews.com.
The Italian website, who usually take their news from other sources, seemingly have an exclusive on the Blues’ attempts to sign the Argentinian international.
They claim that Thomas Tuchel’s side are preparing to bid around €70m (£60m) to €80m (£68m) for Martinez, and they are even willing to include a former player of there’s, Mateo Kovacic, as part of the deal.
It is believed such a proposal would tempt the Nerazzurri’s chief executive Beppe Marotta into selling up, with the Serie A champions then turning their attention towards Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.
First of all, it seems very unlikely that Chelsea would offer up Kovacic, considering how well he is performing this season. On top of that, the European champions don’t really need to sign another forward, after signing Martinez’s former strike partner Romelu Lukaku last summer.
Martinez has been linked with a move to England recently, with both Arsenal and Tottenham said to be keen, but this report linking him with a switch to Stamford Bridge should be treated with a large pinch of salt.
