Chelsea are not in negotiations to sign Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It was reported yesterday that the Blues were interested in snapping up the 29-year-old but Romano says there have been no talks about a potential transfer at this stage:
Chelsea have not opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain or representatives for Layvin Kurzawa. Been told there’s nothing serious or advanced as of today. 🔵🇫🇷 #CFC

Supporters on Twitter are not so much frustrated by the news that the London club aren’t signing Kurzawa, but by the lack of urgency in the pursuit of a new wingback:
So we’re not getting anyone what a joke

Don’t rate him but also don’t know how to feel about this, seems like we won’t sign anyone

It is no coincidence that Chelsea have begun to struggle since the injuries to Ben Chilwell and Reece James. With the January transfer window open, the club could have moved quickly to sign a potential backup but they have dragged their feet.
Kurzawa never really looked like being the solution though. The defender may have played under manager Thomas Tuchel for two and a half years at PSG, but he only started 26 league games during that period.
