Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Leicester and Crystal Palace are all keeping tabs on Lyon defender Joachim Andersen, according to reports in the English media.
The Blues are believed to be considering the 25-year-old as a backup option if they miss out on other targets, with Lyon reportedly willing to sell the Danish international for £25m.
While Andersen did perform well during his time on loan at Fulham, supporters on Twitter think Chelsea will be targeting defenders of a much higher standard:

Would even be the best danish centre back that plays for Chelsea, pointless signing

Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule have been the two other centre-backs who have been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
However, while those two players are undoubtedly better defenders, they would be expensive purchases and, with the Blues keen on signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, they may have to cut back on their spending elsewhere, meaning Andersen could be an option if Tuchel wants more depth in the centre of defence.
