Liverpool sold the most shirts out of any Premier League club in 2021, according to the Euromerica Sport Marketing group (via FootballTransfers.com).

The Reds managed to sell 2.45m last year, compared to Manchester United’s 1.95m, Chelsea’s 1.31m and Manchester City’s 1.09m.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are now third overall in Europe, trailing only Bayern Munich (3.25m) and Real Madrid (3.05m).

Only the top 10 in Europe were revealed, with United in fourth, Juventus in fifth, Barcelona sixth and Chelsea in seventh. Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and City make up the rest of the list, with neither Arsenal nor Tottenham included.

Liverpool’s deal with Nike meant that they could sell their shirts in more stores than they were able to under New Balance, and that has undoubtedly contributed to these figures.

On top of that, the Reds also negotiated a bigger cut of each shirt sale by agreeing to less money upfront. From the shirt sale numbers, it seems the strategy has paid off handsomely.
