West Ham have been linked with Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Leeds’ Calvin Phillips in press reports over the past week.
The two players have also been looked at by other teams, with Arsenal the other main suitor for Calvert-Lewin, while the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa are believed to be keeping tabs on Phillips.
Asked whether they would be happy if they managed to sign both Calvert-Lewin and Phillips for around £100m this summer, fans on Twitter were rather split in their responses:
No they are not worth 100m
Phillips is about 45
DCL is about 30— ⚒Grimmer⚒ (@grimmer1895) March 28, 2022
Yes for me.

Do we even have money in the first place?

Would’ve been a dream double signing in 2021. Not so sure now… long injuries for both and DCL looks uninterested at the moment.

would be the best signings in their respective positions, i think it would be more than 100m though.

I can only see Phillips coming, If there’s guarantees on Rice staying put. Not sure DCL has the running in him to do our front line job.

Phillips is top player so absolutely yes but wouldn’t go near Lewin. He had one hot season but not even close to that level the last 18 months

Definitely yes!! Both are decent players at a good age with a lot of growth to come

It could actually be argued that the two of them could cost more than £100m, with it being claimed that the pair may be valued at £60m each by their respective clubs.
You would have to say the likelihood of the Hammers splashing out on both is pretty low but, if manager David Moyes does somehow manage to get his side into the Champions League, you never know.
