West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa have all made enquiries about River Plate midfielder Enzo Fernandez, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim that the four Premier League sides have “asked about” the Argentinian, who is also believed to be on Real Madrid’s radar.

Fernandez has only recently broken into River Plate’s first team, having made 24 appearances last season after returning from a successful loan spell at Defensa y Justicia.

The 21-year-old generally plays as a holding midfielder, but he has also been deployed by manager Marcelo Gallardo on the left of a midfield diamond. Fernandez was actually in action yesterday, providing an assist in the 2-2 draw against Racing Club.

It’s likely West Ham would be eyeing him as a potential replacement for club captain Mark Noble. The 34-year-old is expected to retire from playing at the end of this season when his contract at the London Stadium comes to an end.
