West Ham have been drawn against Manchester United in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
While some supporters on Twitter were debating whether the Hammers have a chance of winning, others were contemplating the imminent arrival of Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma, who could well feature in the game next month:

Put out a decent side and we can win. This is a cup we have a chance to go a long way in.

It does seem as though West Ham do get the short end of the stick when it comes to draws in cup competitions. Last season, David Moyes’ side lost to Everton in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, while they went out to Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Whether either side will field a full-strength team when they play at Old Trafford in September, we shall have to wait and see. If the Irons can strengthen their squad, with more additions such as Zouma before the transfer window closes, they should have the depth to compete with their opponents.
