Arsenal will make a bid for Norwich attacking midfielder Emi Buendia “within the coming days” according to CBS Sports journalist James Benge.
The former Gunners correspondent for Football.London has reiterated reports earlier this week that the London club are stepping up their interest in the playmaker but it now seems a formal approach is imminent.
Buendia has been a long-term target for Arsenal, with the 24-year-old having also been looked at during the January transfer window, before Martin Odegaard was snapped up on loan from Real Madrid.
While the Gunners are still believed to be interested in the Norwegian, Real have yet to indicate whether they are willing to sell the midfielder so the decision has been made to pursue another target instead.
It has been reported that technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta want to get their transfer business done early this summer, and it seems Buendia will be the first player they go after. Whether they can match his £40m valuation, we shall have to wait and see.
