Michael Owen is expecting Chelsea to record a narrow victory when they face London rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
After watching the Blues comfortably beat Spurs in the Carabao Cup recently, Owen feels that Thomas Tuchel’s side should have enough to come out on top this weekend:
“I give Chelsea the edge here. They beat Spurs home and away in the League Cup Semi-Finals and didn’t concede in either game. I can see Spurs scoring, but Chelsea winning.”
Owen has gone for a 2-1 win to Chelsea, which seems like a pretty decent prediction, especially when you consider the fact that the Blues haven’t exactly been firing on all cylinders recently.
Despite getting some good wins in cup competitions, the European champions haven’t actually won a league match since Boxing Day so they will be hoping to put that right tomorrow.
The Carabao Cup games do give us a good indication about where each team is at so Chelsea should be favourites, especially at home, and it will be a very important three points if Tuchel’s men do get the victory.
