Real Madrid are looking to get a deal secured for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni before the summer transfer window, according to SoyMadridista.com.
The website reports that “reliable sources” have told them that chief scout Juni Calafat travelled to Monaco yesterday in order to begin “negotiating with the player”.
Real’s initial interest was first reported back in October but SoyMadridista claim that they have accelerated their attempts to sign Tchouameni in “the last 48 hours”.
Chelsea are believed to be very keen on signing the France international, along with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, and it remains to be seen how this will affect the Blues’ transfer plans.
Tchouameni is reportedly valued at around €50m (£42m) by Monaco, which would make him a lot cheaper than other options such as West Ham’s Declan Rice.
The Blues were said to have put a lot of groundwork into signing Tchouameni, having scouted the 21-year-old extensively, but it appears Real are now keen to beat the European champions to his signature.
