Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde is still Chelsea’s “top target” for the summer transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist says that, while the defender is not the only option, the Blues are expected to revive their interest in the France international at the end of the season:
Chelsea have Jules Koundé as top target in their summer list, as reported days ago. Not the only candidate – but still appreciated after deal collapsed with Sevilla last August. 🔵 #CFC
Sevilla wanted €65/70m last summer.

As Romano also points out, Kounde asking price is between €65m(£54.4m) and €70m (£58.6m), which will make him slightly cheaper than last summer when Sevilla ended up demanding €80m (£67m) for the player.
Any move for Kounde is, however, likely to be dependent on the futures of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and captain Cesar Azpilicueta, whose contracts are set to expire in June.
If just one of them leaves on a free transfer, reinforcements at the back will be needed, and it seems Chelsea are covering every eventuality by putting plans in place to secure the signature of Kounde.
