Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech did get an assist for Kai Havertz’s goal against Southampton yesterday evening, but his overall performance left a lot to be desired.
While he wasn’t the only culprit, the Moroccan gave the ball away on no less than seven occasions during his 67 minutes on the pitch before he was replaced by Mason Mount.
Supporters on Twitter were rather disappointed by what they saw from Ziyech with some even suggesting it may be time to offload the 28-year-old:
The guy is becoming worse by the day and if he continues like this by the time the whole squad is fit he may not be making matchday squads

Sell him to Newcastle in January, he’s a total disaster

what’s going on with that man? it’s amazing how bad he plays, it looks like he’s not even trying

The most heart breaking part is that his demeanor on the pitch appears very wrong aside playing bad.

He plays with so much arrogance for someone who has never played any good match for Chelsea

A year gone and he hasn’t adapted to the premier league. We should sell him now

Manager Thomas Tuchel was forced to speak out on Ziyech’s future only a few days ago, but the German insisted that the winger is still an important player for the Blues.
However, based on his current form, he is unlikely to be featuring regularly for the first team anytime soon, despite some of the injuries that Chelsea are having to deal with in the front line. It is fair to say that Ziyech has been a huge disappointment since he moved to Stamford Bridge.
