Rangers winger Scott Wright put in, arguably, his best performance for the club in the 2-0 win over St Mirren yesterday afternoon.
The 24-year-old was handed only his fourth league start of the season but he paid back the trust shown in him by manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst by scoring the opening goal.
Supporters on Twitter were effusive in their praise of Wright after the game, and they felt that the player answered a lot of critics with his display:
Boy made a statement today

Great commitment whenever he has a Rangers shirt on.

Not bad for a Rangers dud according to some Rangers bloggers… Great reply in my book…

Excellent game from Scott Wright today, hopefully a decent run in the team in 2022.

Wright put in a very consistent 90 minutes. He was asked to play wide, and he did exactly that, causing no end of trouble for St Mirren left-back Scott Tanser.
The ex-Aberdeen player probably should have had an assist to go with his goal, but Alfredo Morelos was unable to convert after a smart pullback. It will be interesting to see whether he starts against his former club in the first match after the winter break.
