Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has singled out Rangers midfielder John Lundstram for praise about his performance against RB Leipzig last night.
The 28-year-old not only scored the goal that sent the Gers through to the Europa League final but he put in a phenomenal all-round display. Carragher was quick to recognise the former Sheffield United player’s contributions:
Brilliant achievement for @RangersFC & John Lundstram with a fantastic goal & performance 🔥⚽️#RanRBL

Being a fellow Scouser, Carragher was clearly rooting for Lundstram but the midfielder’s efforts were also praised by none other than Chris Sutton, who doesn’t usually go out of his way to credit Rangers players. That pretty much says it all about how good he was yesterday evening.
It is certainly a far cry from the start of the season when Lundstram was being criticised by supporters for some poor performances, and it is also easy to forget that he wasn’t even in favour when Giovanni van Bronckhorst took over the job. You have to tip your hat to the Englishman for how he’s turned things around.
