Crystal Palace sent a scout to watch Rangers attacking midfielder Joe Aribo in action against Braga last week, according to reports in England.
The Nigerian has yet to sign a new contract and, with his current deal due to expire next year, there were claims made in February that the Gers may have to accept a reduced fee of around £5m for the player.
However, Palace are actively looking for a replacement for Connor Gallagher, with the 22-year-old expected to return to Chelsea once his loan spell at Selhurst Park ends this summer.
With it also being suggested that there are plenty of other Premier League teams pursuing Aribo, Palace will probably be prepared to shell out a bit more to secure a replacement for Gallagher, who has been a key player for the Eagles this season.
Rangers are likely still holding out some hope that Aribo will sign an extension but, if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new deal, getting the best price for the 25-year-old will be the priority.
