Rangers left-back Borna Barisic put in an excellent performance against St Johnstone in the 3-0 win at Ibrox last night.
The 27-year-old’s expertly taken free-kick opened the scoring helping the Gers to a comfortable victory and, after the game, fans on Twitter praised the fullback for his superb display:
Borna Barisic was phenomenal! Easy MOTM.
All great goals scored.. those at the end of the half and start of the second were critical. Well managed game afterwards. We march onto the next one.. #WATP!

Barisic motm for me, especially good performance in the 1st half. I don’t think we were quite at our best the night, but a 3-0 win anyway. Certainly can’t complain about that. 100% win/loss and 100% clean sheet record at this early stage of the season. Long may it continue ??

Barisic has become a standout performer for the Light Blues. It’s hard to imagine that this time last year there were still some doubts over whether the defender deserved a place in Steven Gerrard’s starting eleven. However, after a huge improvement in the past twelve months, he has become one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Some supporters will be concerned that European clubs may consider making a bid for the Croatian before the transfer window closes, but, after signing a new contract in January, the player is reportedly happy to stay in Scotland. Hopefully, he can continue in this rich vein of form for the rest of the campaign.
