Rangers may demand around €15m (£12.6m) for midfielder Joe Aribo, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Aston Villa are thought to be the favourites to land the Nigerian international with manager Steven Gerrard said to have asked his club to make a move for the player in the January transfer window.

Premier League rivals Leicester are also reportedly in the mix, with Aribo’s international teammate Wilfried Ndidi believed to be trying to convince the 25-year-old into making the move to the King Power Stadium instead.

As things stand, there has been no speculation in the Scottish press regarding the interest from the two teams, but that could change in the coming days.

Aribo has been in superb form for the Light Blues so far this season, having scored six goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances. Supporters will be very much hoping that the Nigerian remains at Ibrox next month.
