Rangers remain interested in signing Sampdoria midfielder Jakub Jankto, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Czech Republic international got on the scoresheet as his side drew 1-1 against city rivals Genoa at the weekend and it seems the 24-year-old is still being watched by the Light Blues.
Jankto moved to Sampdoria two years ago from Udinese, where he had been on Arsenal’s radar, but he hasn’t really pulled up any trees since making the switch to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
The Czech has, though, started this campaign very brightly, with his goal against Genoa being his second strike in just five appearances for Sampdoria.
Jankto has played mostly as a left-winger this season, and manager Steven Gerrard could well be after another option in wide areas if he opts to dispense with the services of either Jordan Jones or Brandon Barker. Neither player has really made an impact at Ibrox and the Scottish club may be looking at replacements.
