Rangers may turn their attention to Galatasaray winger Olimpiu Morutan before the transfer window shuts, according to The Scotsman.

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that the Scottish champions will be looking to bring in a replacement for Ianis Hagi, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Morutan, who is an international teammate of Hagi’s, was first linked with a move to Ibrox in the Turkish media back in December and The Scotsman suggest that the 22-year-old may now become a “viable target.”

Whether the newspaper is merely speculating or they know the winger is top of the club’s list of targets for this month, it isn’t clear.

Morutan only joined from FCSB (Steaua Bucharest) in August last year but, with Galatasaray currently struggling at the wrong end of the Super Lig table, the Turkish side may be open to letting the Romanian international leave.
