After seeing Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet score his first goal for Scotland on Wednesday evening, some Rangers supporters have been discussing whether the 24-year-old has the quality to play for the Light Blues.
The forward bagged 18 goals in all competitions at club level last season but, despite his excellent form, the vast majority of fans on Twitter are not convinced he would make the grade at Ibrox:
Not for me sorry we need to be setting sights a bit higher than that same when people mention Ferguson at Aberdeen remember champions League football next season hopefully

Nope, been here so many times with Scottish players were they are way overrated. Goodwillie, Cummings, shankland, dykes all linked at one point or another all. All nowhere near good enough

Not for the money they’d want ?

No. They would want more than any SPL player is worth. He’ll end up at Derby or somewhere.

Nisbet has certainly been a consistent goalscorer as he has risen through the divisions over the past three years, but the Gers need elite players to compete on a European stage.
The likes of Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe and Jermain Defoe have shown they can score goals against top-class opposition while Nisbet is relatively untested.
You also have to factor in that Rangers have signed Fashion Sakala on a free transfer too, which suggests snapping up another striker is not a priority for manager Steven Gerrard.
