Arsenal are considering a move for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge once again, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners had been scouting the 23-year-old, but the Blades’ £35m asking price had put them off from making a bid for the player.

It is now believed that Berge is available for around £30m, and that figure is expected to attract the London club back to the table, after failing in their attempts to find alternatives.

Arsenal’s approach for Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli has not gone anywhere, with the Italian only interested in joining Juventus, while reports have suggested that a move for Ruben Neves is unlikely, amid claims Wolves are demanding £45m for the Portuguese international.

With Berge now likely to cost less than both players, the Norwegian seems to be a more realistic option. He is still not thought to be the Gunners’ number one target but that may change before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
