Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey had a rather ineffective game as the Gunners secured a 2-0 win over Newcastle yesterday afternoon.
The Ghanaian international made just one tackle and one interception, whilst misplacing four passes before being substituted in the closing stages of the match at the Emirates.
Supporters on Twitter are worried by Partey‘s recent performances and some are speculating whether he is simply struggling with the pace of English football or that he may not be 100% fit:
Partey looked tired and disinterested

Partey’s still not used to the pace of epl.

Partey has been terrible. Do any of you go to the games? He literally offers nothing, Elneny cost £5mil and you expect that, Partey is bypassed way to easily ask misplaces countless passes

He seems to be out of match fitness

Lets be honest Partey has been massively disappointing. Two players we are carrying are Partey and Aubameyang. A strong manager drops them

I think Partey is still injured

Partey was actually very poor.

Partey is just so, so sloppy man 🤦

Arsenal are certainly not getting value for money from Partey at the moment. While injuries can partly explain his slow start to the season, he is still performing well below expectations. He does not look like a £45m midfielder.
One of his best displays last campaign was away against Manchester United and, with the fixture coming up again on Thursday night, fans will be hoping to see him perform at similar levels at Old Trafford later this week.
