Former England international Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to secure a narrow win over Leeds United in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup this evening.
The Gunners are going into the match off the back of a confident victory against Aston Villa, and Owen believes that performance should hold them in good stead tonight:
“Arsenal looked in very good form in Friday’s win over Villa. I thought they played with great energy, led by Emile Smith Rowe. Arsenal have won the FA Cup under Arteta, and he’ll fancy another Cup run here.”
Owen has gone with a 2-1 win to Arsenal, which seems like a fair prediction considering we know that Leeds usually get on the scoresheet due to their attacking style of play.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have, however, struggled to get results so far this season and find themselves 17th in the Premier League table, with just one win in nine matches.
Cup ties can, though, go against the form book and, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta expected to make a number of changes, this could well be as tight as Owen is predicting. Fans should anticipate a lively affair at the Emirates.
