Arsenal winger Willian is expected to make a decision on whether he wants to move back to Corinthians today, according to ESPN Brasil.
The website report that new players have to be registered for the Brazilian Serie A by August 30th (tomorrow) or they won’t be able to participate in the second half of the season.
Willian would prefer to stay in Europe and, while interest has been shown in him, the only real offer has come from Corinthians, where he started his career back in 2005.
It is thought that the Gunners are prepared to terminate the 33-year-old’s contract in order to allow him to make the move to Brazil.
Reports vary on how much Willian is earning at the Emirates, with it being suggested by some that he is being paid as much as £190,000 a week after moving from Chelsea on a free transfer last summer. By ending the Brazilian’s contract a year early, Arsenal could save a lot of money.
