Roma are considering whether to use Amadou Diawara or Cengiz Under in their next bid for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Italian publication claim that after having their first offer of €13m (£11m) rejected, the Giallorossi are now looking at whether to make a part-exchange offer in order to bridge the gap to the Gunners’ valuation of Xhaka.
Diawara is valued at between €10m to €15m by the Serie A side and was reportedly a player who was interesting Arsenal last summer, so the Guinean international is the likeliest candidate.
Using Cengiz in the deal for Xhaka may not be as attractive to the Gunners. Gazzetta cite reports in Turkey that the London club are interested in the 23-year-old but even they point out that this is not likely considering his poor season on loan at Leicester. They say, though, he could be still worth between €5m and €6m so he may be offered anyway.
