Bologna will not sell winger Andreas Skov Olsen for less than €8m (£6.7m) before the transfer window closes, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Danish international has been linked with Rangers on and off over the past year, and the serious knee injury sustained by Ianis Hagi had prompted more talk about a potential bid for the player.

However, up until recently, it had been assumed Club Brugge were close to snapping up Olsen but it now appears that their last bid, reportedly worth €4.5m (£3.8m), was not deemed insufficient.

While that may appear to give the Gers an opening, it seems very unlikely that the Scottish champions would come close to matching Olsen’s current asking price.

With that being the case, the only way that Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s side could bring in the 22-year-old this month is if he becomes available on loan. There has been no suggestion that Bologna are open to such a move at this time so it looks almost certain that the Dane will remain in Italy.
