Rangers talisman James Tavernier says teammate Ryan Kent has all the talent necessary to perform at the highest level in the English Premier League.

The winger has been in superb form for the Gers so far this season, and while Tavernier backs him to be a success if he does return south, he expects him to see out this campaign with the Light Blues at least:

“He is showing incredible consistency. There is nothing better I’d like to see than Ryan in the Premier League and hopefully, that day will come – after this season. He’s got everything as a winger. He can shoot with his left or right foot and he can take it on both sides, he is so comfortable with both feet. As a defender, it’s so hard to defend against because he can come down either side.”

Kent was pursued by Leeds over the summer, but the Yorkshire club did not come close to matching the 24-year-old’s asking price. The player himself has also expressed that he is happy to stay in Scotland.

Considering his performances of late, Gers supporters would dearly love for him to stay for longer and there have been reports that the club are lining up a contract extension for the former Liverpool star.

If he does sign a new deal, it would certainly help Rangers to ward off suitors from the Premier League for a while longer. Tavernier’s comments do, however, suggest, that a move will become inevitable at some point though.
